Sex. When the media says e-commerce is booming, it's not amazon.com that's making the money. It's porno over the net. How do you find it? Type in any 4 letter word and click, or go to any search engine (there's even a sex search engine called 'youho.com'. No I'm not kidding.) Or close your eyes and punch letters. It's everywhere. So what about kids and porn? We all agree they shouldn't access these sites. And the truth is that pornographers don't want your kids viewing either. They want adults with credit cards. So to protect themselves most have instigated some type of adult-checks to make sure kids can't get in. Unfortunately there is still enough porn to go around. Parents , know this and monitor your kids on the net. It's easier than monitoring the whole world (and as always, if we don't, the people who want to censor EVERYTHING will cry the usual mantra: save us from child molesters and Nazis - kill freedom of speech for adults (as if everyone for freedom of speech is a child-molesting Nazi.)
Gambling. Whether you wear a suit and play the stock market (and trading over the net is BIG business!) or gambling Vegas style on sites (usually outside the US) remember there are still thieves and cheats. And believe me they're better at getting your money than you are. Use common sense, be cautious, and prove to them that you aren't one of those born every minute!
